Elvis Impersonators

By - William Traverso

Some people are preparing to become Elvis impersonators with the help of makeup, tight outfits, and fiery charisma. An Elvis impersonator named Justin Shandor, who is eighteen, stands at a tiny stage at the Elvis-a-rama museum. Also Graham Patrick who is thirty-one is surrounded by a fake Rod Stewart and a fake Bruce Springsteen while he is darkening his hair for the show. Over at the Riviera Hotel, Jim LeBoeuf who is forty-five goes into a set of early years while he takes a handful of Elvis goodies. Some people say Elvis is dead and others say  Elvis lives.
Twenty-five years ago on August 16, the world cried for 42 year old Elvis Aron Presley when he died.  The reason he died was due to cardiac arrhythmia but that was later changed to polypharmacy.  The police later found, in his house,  fourteen different drugs. There are also rumors that Elvis did not die but he retired.  However, I do not think  this is true. There are also rumors that he went back "home" meaning aliens took him back to where he came from.
His fans go to Memphis' Graceland each year to pay their respects to what some people say was the true king of rock and roll. Men, women and children impersonate Elvis all over the world even in England and Japan.  In true Elvis country, Viva Las Vegas, an Elvis tribute show, has at least ten Elvis impersonators dancing and singing like him.  Here are some of the wages of impersonating Elvis: If you wear the "Aloha Eagle" jumpsuit, cape and belt that Elvis wore during the 1973 TV special you get $2,900, If you wear the original jumpsuit you get $2,050, and if you win the whole thing in Viva Las Vegas you get $100,000 to $150,000. I however think that he is dead.

About The Medieval period

I like the medieval period because they have swords. I love swords! And I also love dragons. If I lived in that period I would have been a dragon slayer.
Swords were made as early as 500-1500 BC.  Many of the swords had a pointed tip.  These were used for thrusting.  The swords with a rounded tip were used for slashing.  Some were double sided and some were single sided. Depending on the person the sword was either, single handed or double gripped. There are some swords that are called War swords also known as long-swords. They were mostly used for battling because they're strong and long.  They had a lot of battles with other countries and they were very bloody. There was a lot of armor back then that weighed at least 40 pounds.  The swords were about 20 pounds and it is very hard to swing the sword and get back in reaction to swing again. Also they had a bow and arrows. They weighed about 5-7 pounds and some were sort range and some were long range. Some of the armor can take the arrows and some can't take it especially when it is in close range. Then there is the Mace which is a round, spiked ball on the end of a chain that you use to strike your opponent. The spiked ball weighed around 15 to 20 pounds.  The damage caused by this weapon was severe.

Junk Yard War        By: Jeff Townson

"Junkyard Wars" is a good show; they build things from objects found in a junkyard. After building these items they, race, fight and compete with their creations for points.
This show makes me want to build things and go on the show and compete with them. This show is on at 9:00 PM E.S.T.
I think "Junkyard Wars" is an ideal show for teenagers 13-19.  In addition, a teenagers' version of "Junkyard Wars"  would be really interesting.  . Sometimes the objects they build fall apart and sometimes the other player's "bot" destroys them. What the teams have to do is find the parts from the junkyard and build a project that has been assigned to them.
They are given ten hours to complete their project and try to beat the other team with their creation.  Most of the junkyard wars objects are equipped with battering rams, flying objects, hovercrafts catapults, mobile bridge, and dragsters, all out of junk. Junkyard Wars was first filmed in England and then  in America. I try to watch this show every week but sometimes I miss it. It is very hard to find the material because some of them are out in the open and some are buried in the cars trucks and airplanes.
