Windows XP is an operating system that is totally different from other Windows operating systems. The interface of the start menu is totally different also. The start menu is a high quality start menu. The start menu's color on the start button is green and the taskbar for it is blue. Windows XP has a lot of bugs in it and my computer is really bad with it because I have an HP computer. Some of the problems with Windows XP is that sometimes the CD-Rom drive has been completely removed without me knowing, this doesn't happen now and then, but that had to be a bug. Another bug I know it has is that I cannot be able to use Help and Support on the Windows XP Help and Support program. I cannot request for help, because when I click on Request Help, nothing happens. I also emailed them and called them, and all they said was to get rid of this plug-in folder. I did, and nothing happened. Windows XP is NOT recommended for those of you gamers out there. Some games on Windows XP have a lot of glitches and sometimes you cannot install some games on it because they aren't compatible with Windows XP. Windows XP does come with a compatibility wizard, so you can install games that are not compatible. |

To some people, the future is even being plotted out for the control of content. The Palladium chip to some is a security marvel of engineering and an excellent concept; to others, it is a horrible, horrible, nightmare. It is an enabler of controlled content and the total destruction of the open source community, as we know it. The chip could, in theory, say what content is and is not allowed on a computer system, but seeing that it is still in its infancy, we only seem to have theories at this moment. Corporate America and Government are not the only ones infringing upon your privacy; freelancers are doing it as well. A prime example of this in action was an incident I had observed. I was browsing the Internet one day like any person, and idled in a new chat room that I had found. I noticed someone suspicious enter the chat room, whom was immediately kicked out for being on inappropriate channels. I then decided to do a lookup on that person and found them in an interesting channel, which I decided to enter. To my surprise, I had found a credit card trading ring, and was shocked and amazed to find actual confirmation of an existing working online account. The world seemed to pause for a moment as a shocking revelation was made. I had heard stories of credit card fraud through the Internet and the like, but never before have I ever seen this happen. It is a harsh and scary reality of this world. With the advancements computers bring also come consequences... The old rule caveat emptor is still in effect in today's society. The only way to truly protect yourself is to stay knowledgeable on topics such as this. To learn how things work and how to recognize the red flags when you see them. A legitimate business with bad security can sometimes be just as deadly as a con artist. |
