In this community and many others, an act of emotional mutilation has and will continue to
occur. "Ha, ha, look at his hair!! He's such a dork!" Everyday, someone is put down or humiliated for being who they are. Many different groups and styles have been discovered and exploited due to a reach for individuality. I feel that everyone has a fair chance in this world to reach their goals and come out successful. Everyone in this world was raised differently to become his or her own person. So if someone does something differently then how you would it shouldn't bother you. It's how life is! We need to realize that everyone is equally important as the next. What does it matter what you
look like?
You shouldn't believe someone who puts you down, cause in reality; you are still a part of this world and deserve the same opportunities just as much as everyone else does. Our social status should not apply when it comes to being a decent person. To me, decent people accepts those unlike themselves no matter how "different" they may seem. Some people have opinions that make others feel like they have a certain place in society. People haven't realized that things have changed from the old discrimination days. Racism for the most part, was overcome many years back, yet people still feel the need to hound others about the color of their skin. Ethnic people are just as successful in this world as the white race. It's your motivation, not your appearance that will make you get along.
Religion plays a big role in how people look at one another as well as race. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinions and beliefs. There are no reasons to push personal opinions on others or to even pick on someone's self-esteem because they believe differently. From my experience in dealing with others, all I have to do in order to keep the peace is respect them. I don't have to stand up for the same things as they do. I have no need to believe in their gods, or no gods, I just have to continue to be myself and respect their lifestyle.
If I was able to give advice to everyone, I would say don't worry about others opinions about you. You'll find more true companions by being yourself, then faking a personality and getting mixed up with the wrong people. Know who you are and don't doubt yourself. even if you haven't found who you are yet, don't let other people create you--think for yourself. Every second you spend wondering where you belong will help you decide where you really want to be. Be all that you were made to be, and be the only person you know how to be--yourself.
