How Muscles Work

Your muscles work within your body to move virtually everything. Whether smiling, walking, or lifting, your muscles are constantly at work, making your body go. They expand and contract to perform different actions with your body when your body performs different actions.  While lifting, your muscles get tired and eventually begin to tear. You are often sore after a day of lifting because your muscles have been torn down and torn up. Your body then goes to work, using protein to fix the muscles and help them recover. After they have fully healed, your muscles are larger and stronger than they were before. This is how you get stronger and make progress through weightlifting.
