The years that have passed


1900-1920


1900: Time Square is created in New York City.
Today Time Square is one of New York's biggest tourist attractions.

1905, January 9: The Rebellion in Russia broke out.
Soldiers opened fire killing more than 100 people. Thus making the country erupt into the rebellion.

1912, April 14: The Titanic sinks in the North Atlantic.
It hit an iceberg and broke apart killing 2,200 passengers.

1913: The Moving assembly line was made by Detroit auto maker
Henry Ford that was turning out his innovative model T.

1914, August: World War I Begins.

1917, November 7: The Russian Revolution.
The third year of World War I, Czar Nicholas II handed over power to a provisional government.

1919, June 28: The Treaty of Versailles
A peace agreement marking the end of WW I.

1920, August: The 19th amendment is passed.
Allowing women to vote in America.

1921-1940
1932, March 4: President Franklin D. Roosevelt Takes Office.
Roosevelt, a Democrat, promised Americans a new deal, winning 472 electoral votes to Republican, Hoover's 59.

1938, March 12: Nazis occupy Austria.
Hitler forms an alliance with Mussolini, an Italian dictator.

1941-1960
1941, December 7: Japanese attack Pearl Harbor involving the USA in WW II.
