With fall just around the corner, another school year is about to begin. It 's coming fast and  is time to begin shopping for school clothes and accessories. When you enter the store there are tons of school supplies you can buy to prepare you for the up and coming months. Act fast though because you don't have much time. The Delaware Valley school district begins school on August 28, 2000, Port Jervis school district starts on September 5, 2000 and Wallenpaupack school district starts on September 6, 2000. With that in mind is everyone ready?
The excitement of starting school and beginning after school activities ( volleyball, drama, soccer , football, etc) is on way, but hopefully the afterschool activities and overwhelming social life will all come second next to your academics. For the new school year try your hardest to concentrate on your studies first.

Most students would like to get better grades. Here are some suggestions to help you get ahead:

  • Study all your notes frequently
  • Ask questions when you don't understand something
  • Think of who you want be in life
  • Always strive to do your best
  • Join academic, after school activities and study groups
  • Be successful in what want you do
  • Put your best foot forward
  • Be a hard worker
  • Think positive
  • Consider your options for after high school
  • Make goals and try hard to reach them everyday
  • Try not to waste your time!!!

Some students may procrastinate when having to study for exams.  Here are some tips on how to study productively:

  • Start studying two weeks before the date of your exam- or as soon as the information is available.
  • Have a parent, or buddy, help you study- They may quiz you by asking you questions on your notes
  • Review notes when ever possible- to and from school or whenever you have free time
  • Find friends that you can study with
  • Start reviewing from the end to the beginning of your material instead of beginning to end
  • Ask the teacher if he/she would stay after school and help you study
  • Join a study group or create your own.
  • When you are studying your notes and you come across a word or answer that you may have trouble remembering, use association.( Let's say you are studying and you come across Hamilton, think of the word hamburger to try to remember it.)
